Brand Atelier, Brand Foundation, Brand Engine: Which One Does Your Business Actually Need?
We offer multiple brand identity services and the honest answer to which one you need depends on one thing: where your business actually is right now, not where you'd like it to be.
Why Soley Creative offers different brand identity services
Most design studios offer one brand identity package and adjust the scope or price. We don't, because a brand at the beginning of its commercial life needs something fundamentally different from a brand that's scaling and both of those need something different from a brand building for long-term market position.
These aren't tiers, they're different tools for different moments in a brand's life.
Brand Foundation
What it is and who it's for
The entry point. A focused, essential brand identity for businesses that need to show up credibly and consistently but aren't yet ready for a full strategic identity system.
What's included: a logo with a small set of variants, a defined colour palette, a typography system and basic usage guidance. Enough to brief suppliers, produce consistent marketing materials and look intentional across your main channels.
Who it's for: early-stage businesses taking a proposition to market. Founders who need a credible visual foundation before they know exactly what the brand will become. Businesses where moving forward professionally matters more than building something permanent right now.
What it isn't: Brand Foundation is not designed as a be-all for the future for you brand although there is a lasting foundation built, if you are looking scale with significant business growth imminently, or have this identity serve as the foundation for a complex multi-channel brand this is not the right package for you.
Brand Atelier (or Brand Evolution!)
What it is and who it's for
The strategic brand identity service: a complete identity system built around a commercial brief, not just a visual one.
What's included: brand alignment and initial visual directive, logo design with a full set of variants for every context, a colour system with rules for how colours combine and where they appear, a typography system for all formats, brand guidelines, and brand-in-use applications showing how the identity works across key touchpoints.
Who it's for: founder-led brands that need a solid identity or have outgrown their existing identity. Businesses preparing for significant marketing investment, a product launch, or a move into a higher price bracket. Brands where inconsistency has become a commercial problem.
The starting question for every Brand Atelier project isn't 'what should the logo look like?' It's 'what does this brand need to do commercially, for which customer, at which price point?' The visual work answers that question.
Brand Engine
What it is and who it's for
For brands that need to think about identity as digital and product architecture, not just a visual system, but the infrastructure that allows a brand to scale across multiple products, platforms, channels and markets.
Who it's for: brands at a growth stage where the identity needs to work as a scalable system. Where the question isn't 'how do we make this look good?' but 'how do we build something that holds together as the business grows significantly in complexity?' Especially online.
How to know which one you need
Brand Foundation: you're at the start. You need to look credible. Not yet ready to invest in a full strategic identity.
Brand Atelier/Evolution: your brand has been built, but it's not doing the commercial job it needs to do. Or the business has grown and the brand needs to catch up.
Brand Engine: your brand needs to work as infrastructure for scale across products, platforms, markets or significant complexity.
Not sure? The Brand Authority Audit is the clearest way to find out. It reviews your brand across every commercial touchpoint and tells you specifically what needs to change and why before you commit to a full project.
What they all have in common
Every Soley Creative brand project starts with the same question: what does this brand need to do commercially?
