Before You Rebrand in 2026, Ask Yourself These 5 Questions

It’s January. The energy is high. Your team is thinking bigger. And you’ve probably caught yourself saying:

"Maybe we should rebrand this year.”

But before you go all in on colour palettes and new logos, press pause. Rebranding is a powerful move but only when it’s driven by strategy, not boredom.

Here are the five questions we walk our clients through before we recommend a rebrand:

Got a project in mind and want to get in touch?

1. What Problem Is This Rebrand Solving?

Are sales down? Is your audience not connecting? Is your current brand inconsistent or outdated?

Design should be the solution to a problem not the problem itself. Without that clarity, a rebrand is just expensive guesswork.

2. Is Your Offer Clear and Understood?

If your product, pricing or messaging is still changing weekly, now isn’t the time to rebrand. Your visuals should support a message that’s already solid not try to mask confusion with nice typography.

3. What Is the Data Actually Saying?

Low click-through rates? Bounce rates on your homepage? High email unsubscribes? These are signals. But if the data’s healthy, and you’re just feeling “tired” of your current look, maybe you need a refresh not a full rebrand.

4. Rebrand or Refresh?

Sometimes what you need is cohesion not change. A new brand system, visual consistency, updated templates these can make a huge impact without the disruption of starting from scratch.

5. Do You Have the Capacity to Roll It Out Properly?

A successful rebrand isn’t just about design it’s about execution. Website, social, email, packaging, onboarding, team training… it all has to align. If you don’t have the time to roll it out, you risk creating more confusion, not clarity.
