5 Inconsistencies in Design We See All the Time – And How to Fix Them

You could have the best product in your niche but if your visual identity feels disjointed or messy, your audience may not stick around long enough to find out. Inconsistent design is one of the biggest hidden brand killers.

Here are the five most common inconsistencies we see…and how to fix them!

Got a project in mind and want to get in touch?

1. Different Logo Versions Used in Different Places

This is a classic. One logo on Instagram, a stretched or pixelated version on your website, and an old version on event signage. Your logo is your signature…PLEASE protect it. Make sure your team or freelancers all have access to the same high-quality, approved files.

2. Clashing Font Choices Across Channels

Branding feels confused when you mix display fonts with serious serif, then throw in a cursive script for good measure. Choose 2–3 brand fonts max: one for headlines, one for body text, and one for emphasis (if needed). Make them part of your brand guidelines and stick to them.

3. Colour Mismatches in Web, Print, and Social

Different platforms render colour differently, yes but that doesn’t mean your lilac should ever look like neon purple. Use specific hex codes and CMYK/RGB breakdowns. A design system ensures your palette looks polished everywhere.

4. Templates That Don’t Reflect Your Brand

Using Canva templates is a great time-saver…if they’re on-brand. If you’re just picking whatever’s trending, your brand voice will get lost. At Soley Creative, we design custom social media and email templates that look good and convert.

5. Outdated or Mismatched Visual Assets

We see it all the time: last year’s campaign still floating around, email headers with old product imagery, or social captions with dead links. Do a quarterly audit of your visual assets and update them to stay relevant and cohesive.

Why Consistency = Trust

Design consistency builds trust, makes your brand memorable, and saves your team time. With a strong visual system in place, your content can work harder for you without needing to reinvent the wheel each week.

At Soley Creative, we specialise in setting brands up for design success. Whether it’s creating clear brand guidelines, managing your design retainer, or redesigning your Klaviyo email templates we make it easy to show up consistently.
